The Newspaper Boy

This is a story about a 7 year old boy who learned his lessons pretty early in life.

"Mom don't worry, i will fix it for you" said the boy to his mother who was struggling with the drying rope in the lawn before their house.

He was a boy with divine qualities, carrying an urge within to help others. His life was made for others. This reminds of great words of a philosopher - "it is not the activity of bad people that destroys a society, but it is the inactivity of good people that does it. If you are not a part of the solution then you are the problem."

One fine morning of his vacation days, he went to his father & said "dad i want to work. I want to help you run the household."

"Its a great idea son!" said his father in an encouraging tone, "but what will you do? do you have something in mind"

"I will throw newspapers" came instantly "our teacher says there's a scarcity of newspaper throwing men in town. People often get their newspaper after 10 o'clock in the morning."

"Thats true son, but did she tell you why are there few newspaper throwing men?" asked his father to test the boy's knowledge.

"Its because most men go to the city for work, to earn better wages" the boy was sharp.

"Well then, all the best to you son. Tomorrow i will introduce you to the local newspaper vendor & be careful while riding the bike"

"Thanks dad, i'll follow your advice"

The very next day he started throwing newspapers, riding his bike with a helmet on. The block he served, received newspaper at day break. All his customers were happy. His joy of serving other was more than earning a few cents.

One fine day a storm struck the area and it was raining continuesly since 48 hours. The power was down throughout the town. The town was virtually disconnected with the outside world.

That day around 8 o'clock in the morning, door bell rang at a house on this side of the town.

"Who is it" said a frustrated old man in a grumbling voice

To this a sweet voice replied from outside the door "its the newspaper boy sir, i got todays newspaper for you"

The old man opened the door to see a sweet little boy with an umbrella & a bunch of newspapers, standing in mid of heavy rain. "its you who throws the newspaper everyday?"

"yes sir... I'm sorry for the delay today, here's your newspaper. Have a nice day" said the boy & ran towards the next door.

He believed, if you keep your customers happy, they will keep you in business.

The Moon

Lunar libration

Lunar libration

The moon has got great significant in indian culture. The indian calender in based on phases of the moon.

Apart from culture, the moon has been a significant part of fairy tales for children. Children call it 'mama' which means mother's brother in hindi.

This nomenclature in because of a hindu story of deity YAMA & sister YAMUNA the sacred river. Where YAMUNA used to watch the moon to remember her brother YAMA when he is away.

Try watching the moon on a full moon might along with stars. You will feel as if it is a close pal to you.

When you feel sad, go & talk to the moon & you will see that he silently responds to you words. He shares your grief like on one closer to you can.

Go make a new friend tonight.

My Dream Weekend

Thinking about the boring weekend i came up with a great idea for weekend fun.

Ok so first we go to bed early on friday night and get up early on Saturday morning. We reach the beach at day break and enjoy the sunrise with sweet lassi.

Beach cricket is always my favorite. Play cricket all morning long. Our dug out was a short and bent coconut tree. Coconut water is a real energy booster.

Playing cricket makes you very hungry, so time for lunch. Then take time to chill in water or just rest on the shades. Beach views are really great. Let the sun set then make a move to the town.

And who loves evening movies? I do baby!

A romantic comedy or sci-fi thriller can be a good option. . . sorry a great option. I love the smell of popcorn. Hmmm sounds great to me.

Dinner can be great at the corner restaurant. When friends are together just any place can be great.

Have you ever looked at the moon and stars while laying down on your back at the terrace. It feels like you left the world behind and are slowly moving towards the sky. Wonderful. A whispering chat with friends at such moment fills your heart with
joy.

And you sleep calmly, like never before. A kind of mini vacation. Mini but deep inside ;)

Mumbai Local Trains

Ever imagined a Mumbai local empty? Be it 600 hrs morning, be it 2400 hrs in the night.... they are always jam packed. I often feel like an unwanted tomato slice between a spicy grill, or as famous it is like a potato in a pressure cooker.... especially in summer & the best part is - the fan on my side is never working. One day i had that worst experience ever.... Got up late.... missed the return train.... had to take that direct train & the pity mind not ready to do that. However, that night i experienced a great dream.... I was in this empty train, i could enjoy the luxury of any window seat, that cool breeze & guess what! I had my cam. So i took some snaps for proof.

No its not a train going to yard, those trains are not lit. See this one's lit. Anyways a dream's a dream. Get back to reality. Tomorrow you gotta get into the same train. All the best.

Einstein on Mass & Energy

Mass and energy are both but different manifestations of the same thing - a somewhat unfamiliar conception for the average mind.
